The set-up of new schemes is supported by our dedicated point of contact and we always receive quick replies and excellent support from the Smart Pension team regarding any contribution queries. Leading in sustainability
At Smart Pension, we’ve got an absolutely clear focus when it comes to the sustainability of the investments we make with scheme members’ pension savings. Our aim isn’t just to keep pace with the industry – it’s to set that pace. Our default fund is invested into companies with strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credentials and will be net zero by 2040 (ten years earlier than the commitments made by most other pension providers). Having reduced the emissions of our investments by 50% – and reached that milestone two years ahead of target – we’re now aiming at a 75% reduction (from 2020 levels).
We won’t use carbon offsetting to achieve this vision, while we’re also supporting a transition that removes deforestation from our investments and prevents the loss of biodiversity. As a result, our recent award wins include:
