New look for the Smart Pension member account

Our teams of in-house technology and user experience experts are always hard at work creating the most innovative products and services for Smart Pension members. Our award-winning Smart Pension app and member account has been redesigned to make it even easier for members to access their account in real-time, and at any time, with the tap of a finger.

Through the member account or the app, members can:

  • Choose to invest their retirement savings sustainably. We know many people are changing their lifestyle to help save the planet and lower their carbon footprint. That’s why we invest pension savings sustainably. We offer choices for everyone, including the “we do it for you” option, which has three sustainable investment strategies, depending on how sustainable you want your investments to be. This is the option most commonly used by our members.
  • Access financial wellbeing support. It’s important to us that our members feel comfortable with their money so we provide financial education that is wider than just pensions.
  • Ask Alexa or Google. Members can stay up-to-date with their Smart Pension account using a number of simple voice commands. Ask for a quick summary or find out how much your pension is worth.
  • Access Smart Rewards a free benefit to members – unlimited access to over 1,200 discounts at major retailers across the UK. Employees could save up to £400 a year.
  • Access Smart Retire our digital retirement solution which uses flexibility to keep members’ savings working hard for them, even after they retire. Our four pots model gives members control so they can manage their pension savings more confidently, both in the lead up to and during their retirement.
  • Find all pensions and view them in one place. Every time members change jobs, there’s the potential of losing track of their pension savings. There’s an estimated £19.4 billion in lost pensions out there* so we help members with our unique pension finding tool. It searches thousands of workplace pension providers across the UK, so members don’t have to.
  • Keep their savings on track. We use regular in-app nudges to help members keep their pension savings on track. We keep this interesting with themed campaigns such as financial fitness or how to give your pension an MOT. We run beta trials to test our changes first and refine them to get the best possible engagement with our members.

  • Access education on the basics of pensions. We help members with simple animated explainers, video guides, webinars with our pension experts, a member website, a help centre and various guides.
  • Access AI customer service agent, SAVA. Our interactive avatar, SAVA, capable of responding to member questions in real-time across all devices, has joined Smart Pension to provide customer support 24/7, 365 days a year.

And we’ve not forgotten about our employer customers. It’s now easy to add your company logo and imagery to your employees Smart Pension account. We have made improvements so your employees’ pension will be instantly recognisable to them because it will have your company branding throughout.
